Tinnitus is the perception of noise or sounds in the ears (ringing, buzzing, chirping, etc.), and affects about 1 in 5 people.  Although it can be bothersome, tinnitus usually is NOT a sign of something serious.

At Rhode Island APD & Hearing Solutions we focus on the assessment of tinnitus in order to develop a management program for you.  A tinnitus evaluation is completed following a comprehensive audiologic evaluation, and involves testing and identifying the specific characteristics of your tinnitus.  Next we will discuss possible tinnitus management strategies, including the use of a tinnitus masker.  Together, we will choose the option(s) that best fits your needs.

As we live our lives we are exposed to many loud sounds.  If you have to yell to be heard over it - it's probably too loud.   Regular exposure to loud noise causes hearing loss.  One of the best ways to protect your hearing is to wear hearing protection.  Rhode Island APD & Hearing Solutions offers all kinds of hearing protection, including custom ear plugs.  We offer musician plugs, industrial plugs, swim plugs, sleep plugs, and more.
